Good afternoon everyone! I hope you had a fab weekend! Congratulations to everyone who got engaged and hitched over the weekend!
On last night I had the pleasure of tuning in to watch Diann Valentine’s “I DO OVER!” Let me tell you she has a hit on her hands and I truly hope the show will make it to see a second season. For those of you who don’t know, “I DO OVER” is a show that focuses on second chance weddings for brides and grooms whose first wedding didn’t go quite as planned.
On last night’s premiere episode the Santini’s, who were married 18 years, were featured. Their wedding was ruined when the bridesmaid’s dresses never showed up to the wedding. How devastating is that? The bridesmaids had no other option, but to wear the groomsmen’s tuxedo shirts. This bride was so mortified that she cried during the entire ceremony and scurried down the aisle letting out a huge yelp, “I need a drink!” Who could blame her?
Here is where the story turns for the better. After 18 years of being ashamed of their wedding and not having any decent photos to share Diann Valentine steps in and gives this couple a much deserving Wedding “Do Over.”
Diann had 5 days to make this happen. Yes, 5 days!! Not only did Diann give this couple a “Do Over” she made it bigger and better. Giving this couple the wedding that any couple would be proud of. The theme or concept for the wedding was old Hollywood, incorporating deep reds and bold, rich, gold colors. My favorite aspect of this wedding was the photo shoot session that Diane arranged for the couple to have during the reception; putting to shame any photo booth ideas you might be thinking of for your wedding.
So, we’ve talked about wedding day disasters on this blog before, but never to this magnitude. How would you (planners) have handled this disaster and if you had the chance to offer a couple a Wedding “Do Over” how would you go about doing so?
If you’ve enjoyed this post, I know you will enjoy the show. Tune in every Sunday night on WE TV at 10pm and check out Diann Valentine work her “I DO OVER” magic! We will be watching and tweeting. Please leave us a comment and subscribe to our blog. Thanks!
